I found this book (c. 1965) in a second-hand shop on Long Island--and quickly realized I had a treasure. In an era of mass production and e-books, each unique page of Gwen's hand-crafted work of art reminds us what we have lost--and helps us recover a part of our personal and collective soul. GWEN FROSIC PRINTS IS A NATIONAL TREASURE--MAY IT RE-OPEN SOON! Jud

I found this book at a house I was taking care of while the family was away. They have a room full that could date back to the 20's. Its beautiful! I was looking at everything in there in awe, when I came across this book, a very old edition. I ended up sitting on the floor near the fireplace reading it just moved by how amazing it was. I had to buy it for myself..though not the same beautifully made edition..it still makes my heart skip beats.

I don't remember when I purchased this book but came across it while unpacking after moving to the woods. I had forgotten about it completely. What a special gift to myself - the words of a woman who sees as I see - we are of like-minds and Mother Nature is the bond. barb

This is not a book, but a genuine fine work of art. I was arrested by a glimpse of a single page caught from the corner of my eye at a library's used book store. Now knowing more of the author, I am blessed to own a '65 copy.

Purchased at a county library book sale. I fell in love with the illustrations, quality and thoughtfulness of the prose. A very special book.

I love this book too, it so beautifully captures the beauty of the Michigan outdoors. The colors are so lovely, it is a delight and a work of art. I treasure my copy!

I too found an old edition (1968 - from the hand-written note inside the cover). The prints and paper are absolutely incredible - from the stylized birds to the real butterfly wings in the handmade paper. The most peculiar thing is that this book 'magically' showed up on our small bookshelf. We have no idea where it came from, but we LOVE it!
